FlySafair commences Lanseria operations
FlySafair has begun flight operations at Lanseria International Airport.
Commencing on August 1, FlySafair now operates flights from Cape Town and George to Lanseria.
The first flight to Lanseria from Cape Town was marked with a water canon salute. “It’s such an exciting event that even our competitors outside are excited,” said Elmar Conradie, Safair CEO, in reference to Mango’s baggage refund voucher of R250 for FlySafair customers.
The airline’s move to include Lanseria as a destination brings their routes up to 10 between seven local destinations.
FA302 left Cape Town at 08h35 and landed at Lanseria at 10h50. This is one of two daily flights to Cape Town from Lanseria. FA302 departs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 08h35, and FA304 departs at 19h00 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On return from Lanseria, FA301 departs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 05h55, FA303 departs every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at 16h20.
The airline will also fly from Lanseria to George on Fridays and Saturdays. FA330 departs Lanseria at 11h30 on Fridays and Sundays. FA331 departs George at 13h55 on Fridays and Sundays.
From October 30, the airline will up its daily flights on the same route from two to three. Kirby Gordon, Vice President of Sales and Distribution for FlySafair said the airline was also looking at the possibility of additional routes between Lanseria and Durban as well as Durban and Port Elizabeth.
