Fastjet bulks up direct flights between Joburg and Vic Falls

Pan-Africa's low-cost airline, fastjet will once again be offering direct flights between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls, come 31 July.

The airline made the announcement on Tuesday 11 July, citing strong passenger on the back of a host of new routes to the Zimbabwean home of one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Currently offering up to three daily return flights on its route between Johannesburg and Harare, the carrier also announced that it is bulking up its route between Harare and Victoria Falls with daily and at times twice daily frequencies.

It says the recent increase between Harare and Johannesburg will be further supported with a fourth flight between the cities on peak-demand days.

The airline says, the operation of more than 78 flights weekly on its Zimbabwean routes represents a doubling of current capacity in the Zimbabwean market with an additional Embraer E145 aircraft deployed on the routes.

Added to this, fastjet says the reintroduction of direct flights between Johannesburg and Victoria Falls will make access to one of Southern Africa’s most popular attractions more affordable.
