Wilderness Safaris’ Chikwenya  and Ruckomechi camps are set to re-open on 1 April for the 2019 safari season in Zimbabwe’s majestic Mana Pools National Park. With both camps offering an authentic and immersive experience strongly rooted in a core purpose, guests can be assured of an exclusive wilderness experience in one of Africa’s greatest wildlife areas, whist giving back to conservation and community empowerment at the same time.

“We are looking forward to welcoming our guests to another great season in this piece of paradise. Both Chikwenya and Ruckomechi epitomise a true bush camp experience, with the personal service, intimacy and warmth for which our tented camps are renowned”, commented Dean Morton, Wilderness Safaris Zambezi Operations Manager. “With both camps set in private concessions with exclusive access to spectacular stretches of the Zambezi River, our guests will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing the tempo of their day – from walks to game drives, boating and fishing, there is truly something for everyone”.

The completely rebuilt and revamped Chikwenya, which re-opened in October 2018, is a true photographer’s paradise. Comprising seven luxurious tented suites, the camp is situated in one of the most productive and beautiful concessions in Zimbabwe, and has been designed to take advantage of the spectacular Zambezi River views. Ruckomechi boasts the same wide-angled views of the Zambezi River and the dramatic purple-hued escarpment of Zambia in the distance.
